I hope that there is such a thing as living on in spirit.  I am coming to believe such a condition of living in spirit exists.  Kind of like the Indians and the spirits they believe in.   I had a dream that Bob is in God's hands and safe.  But I am also feel his presense a lot during the day.  It isn't just the physical things left behind; although they do serve to remind and keep the memories fresher, but it is in the things that have happened since.  When I have been at my lowest, I have despaired to both God and Bob.  And my despair has received a response.  Every time.   The key is to let it happen.  Know that the depair will ease.  Something happens every time.  It can't be pushed or forced.  I have to let go and let Bob intervene.   Let his spirit act on those who need to give me a response.   It is hard to no longer be that special person to someone here in the physical world.  It sure eases the pain to know that I am still special to that spirit that remains of him.  Thank God for that and for letting me have Bob in my life.  And now letting his spirit remain with me for the next days.

Headstone in Place

Bob's headstone is set.  My last worry about his final resting place is over.  He was such a good man, finer than anyone could have ever guessed, including me.  I miss him so much.  It has been a little over two months since he died on Jan 16.  I cry every day.  I am just beginning to recover from the shock of not having his physical presence in my life.   His final days were the hardest thing I ever had to live through.   Caring for him while he was dying was the hardest thing I ever had to do.

I had a chance of a lifetime last June in Eureka.   I got to talk to a gentleman from New York I believe, cycling across America from Virginia to Oregon on a recumbent trike.  It was great for me because I was able to talk to someone at least briefly who has a lot of experience on a trike and what he might recommend.  He was pedaling into Eureka yesterday from the east just as I was exiting the town after afternoon court hearings.  I saw him pull into a driveway located at the assisted living center on the east edge of town.  Should I turn around?  I decided yes, so I whipped Black Beauty around and went back to talk to him.  He was friendly and curteous and answered my questions.   He had some good pointers especially for a never been there before newby like myself.   We talked some about gearing, his bike and he asked where the city park was in Eureka.  Actually, the city park is probably the only public place in Eureka I don't know the whereabouts.  He was looking on a map he had and apparently the location wasn't clear.   I gave him my best guess as I thought I recalled seeing a sign at the one and only stop light in Eureka that said city park and an arrow.

Anyway he rekindled my enthusiasm for a recumbent trike and gave me a couple of good pointers for consideration:  KISS - stay with a company that's been in business for a while and don't worry too much about how many gears.  In his opinion an 8 geared internal hub Terra Trike would fit the bill nicely in this area. Kansas not having to many severe hills to pull.  He hasn't been over the Flint Hills west of Eureka yet!

All right!  Recumbent trike is being shipped.  After musing and looking and worrying, I selected the "Spike", Trident Trikes entry level offering.  It is due to arrive Feb 26, but the shipper is DHL, a notoriously bad shipper for this area, so I have my fingers crossed.  The weather is supposed to be halfway decent next week, so I am figuring I could have some time to get it put together.  Kinda risky sending it without first shipping to a dealership, but the nearest dealership for this part of the country is in Lexington, OK which is about 6 hour drive from here.  So I am hoping I can get the trike together myself.  Got two grandson's that are pretty fair with bikes, so if in a jam, they may be able to help.
